Foggy, rainy mornings are the best

Posted on October 29, 2015

I opened my front door this morning and to my delight I saw a thick fog blanketing the landscape (I love foggy, rainy landscapes. The colors just pop while the tone of a photograph retains that ethereal quality). I wanted so much to grab my camera, jump in the car and find the perfect scenery to photograph, but mommy duties were calling me so I spent the better part of the morning looking out the window witnessing the changing landscape. Finally, a while later I finally made it outside. It was pouring rain by then, but I headed to the park and managed to take a few shots. Thank goodness I got a chance to shoot. I couldn’t let this gorgeousness pass me by.…

Moon over Altamont Fair

Posted on August 17, 2013

Yesterday my family and I went to the Altamont Fair. The weather was fantastic and it was a great day to take the kids. As I’m sure you have noticed I’ve hardly been posting up any photographs since Oliver’s birth. The boys have been keeping me busy around the clock. So when we decided to go yesterday to the fair I immediately got down to business. That’s right I ran and got my Nikon and my super wide lens (oh and yes I also remembered to get Oliver’s diaper bag). I’ve missed my camera sooo much. I managed to get a few really good shots that I will be posting over the next few days.

The photograph that I’m posting tonight was enhanced by a beautiful moon that just seemed to light up the sky.

Enjoying a little summer sunshine in Troy, N.Y.

Posted on July 6, 2013

Between the constant rain we’ve been having in the northeast and the arrival of our newborn we haven’t been getting out much, but today we managed to visit a Farmers’ Market in Troy, N.Y. According to what I had heard from others the downtown area of Troy with its eclectic shops and eateries is definitely worth a visit. Their Farmers’ Market on Saturdays proved to be a great place to just roam about. There was fresh produce to take home and cook with, pretty flowers in Mason jars and yummy homemade Mexican food and that’s just a fraction of the wonderful things one can find here. I was also able to visit two shops. The first is a really cool boutique/gallery, the Anchor No.…

March, In like a lion…

Posted on March 17, 2013

The only reason I shot this scene today was because my son informed my husband and I in no uncertain terms that he wanted to go to the park. We tried to explain to him that it was very cold outside (only going up to mid 30’s!) and that it wasn’t a good day for the park, but I guess there is only so much indoor activities a kid can take before he starts to go a little batty. So we layered him up and off we went to Tawasentha Park. Between the cold, cloudy weather and snowstorms we have been having and frankly me getting so big from the pregnancy I haven’t been able to shoot too many pictures. The sun however was shining high in the sky today despite the cold and it looked liked the perfect opportunity to take my camera along. When we got to the park my son took off towards the sandbox (did I mention he’s really tired of playing indoors) and I headed towards the stream. Relax everyone he stayed with my husband : )

It felt so good to be outdoors and feel the sun on my face and just get into a photographic zen, but alas my bliss was short-lived. Just as I was getting into the photographic zone my husband and son came looking for me. “Got cold, huh?” I asked my husband. From the look on their faces both he and my son were ready to resume indoor activities and I’d have to wait another day to continue reveling in my photographic meditation, however I did manage to capture this shot. Hope you like it. And I can’t wait to post a picture and title it March, out like a lamb…
